Peter’s love for everything Goa roused his wife and children to complete the story he began, his touch inspiring every detail of this boutique hotel, down to the logo that bears his handwriting. The adjoining precincts of São Tomé and Fontainhas are a fascinating reminder of Portuguese-era architecture, culture, and food. You can still hear the language too as you walk down the narrow alleyways. Admire the chapels of São Tomé and St Sebastian built in the 1800s and still surrounded by colourful Goan homes. Step into Gallery Gitanjali, Velha Goa Galeria, and Marcou Artifacts for reminders of your time in Goa. Satiate cravings for delightful Goan-Portuguese fare at Confeitaria 31 de Janeiro, one of the oldest bakery’s in Panjim. A short walk uphill takes you past Fonte Phoenix, a small spring, and the Maruti Temple towards Altinho, a neighborhood filled with old palatial homes overlooking the city of Panjim.
